Summary/Abstract: The aim of the philosophy of nature for two centuries after Thales started the philosophy of nature by saying "Water is the main substance of everything"; The main principle of existence is to find and explain everything that exists. In the Renaissance period, the thinkers have laid the foundations of modern science by defining nature independently of God. It can be said that the desire to subjugate nature began with the industrial revolution. In the age of technology and information we live, it is observed that the ignored nature begins to deteriorate and the ecological balance is shaken. For centuries, the nature of mankind's escape to find healing and peace has become a force that man wants to dominate with the benefits of modernism. Deep ecology philosophy, which is one of many ecological approaches, sees man as a member of nature and makes a position that keeps him equal with other beings. In recent years, in order to prevent the irregularity of the order of nature, it is seen that mass media are used other than civil society organizations. One of these tools, cinema is used as a medium in which ecological problems are raised. Apart from documentaries for the protection of nature, animation films and independent art films focus on these problems. Reha Erdem can be said to show the sensitivity of the director to the nature, living in nature or fleeing to nature. In the scope of this study, the fantastic nature descriptions of the imagination and reality that Erdem has established are dealt with in the ecological context. The director's latest film, Big Big World (2016), was tried to be analyzed through semiotic analysis using Deep Ecology paradigm.
