Bibliometric Analysis of Scientific Publications of Tourist Guiding Departments Academicians in Turkey

Summary/Abstract: In this research, scientific publications of academicians were evaluated in terms of various parameters. The population of research that constitute by academician publications who is working in faculty/college and associate (vocational) level in the relevant department of Universities in Turkey. To collect data, web sites of universities, academic data information systems and YOK academic database were searched by document-archive research method. Content analysis was used to analyze the curriculum vitae and other data, and the descriptive analysis was analyzed with cross tables. As a result, 38 faculties/colleges and 26 vocational schools have 290 academicians in tourist guiding departments in total; 6601 publications published totally, a great majority of them (73.7%) were in Turkish. Regarding the type of publication, it was found that academicians made papers (42.7%) and articles (35.4%) and respectively, give consultation to 429 graduate theses, also.
