POZA NARRACJĘ, POZA LOKALNOŚĆ: DYSKURSYWNE FUNKCJONOWANIE POSTACI BEKSIŃSKICH W SANOKU
BEYOND NARRATION, BEYOND LOCALITY: DISCURSIVE PRACTICE OF FIGURES OF BEKSIŃSKI FAMILY IN SANOK

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the functioning of Zdzisław and Tomasz Beksiński figures in their hometown Sanok. On the base of conducted fieldwork the author offers the view on specific situation of social communication and symbolic exchange happening between visiting tourists and Sanok’s inhabitants, who make local identity of the place. Key role in this process is played by the discursive formation created around Beksiński family biography in popular culture and furtherly interacting with visited place. After the overview of the subject regarding discourse build around figures of Beksiński family and Sanok’s place in it, author proposes to see the phenomenon as a unique mediation between the levels of symbolic conceptualization and local practices, in which Beksiński discursive figures take part. The article points at the influence of such situation has on shaping of socio-cultural space.
