Big Data as a support in supply chain management

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to recognize the benefits of the Big Data concept as an important tool for managing and optimizing supply chains and logistics processes. At the beginning of the elaboration, the Big Data notion was clarified and the main features of the concept were defined. The next part shows the application areas of Big Data and gives examples of the use of this solution in supply chains and logistics. The research showed that the Big Data analysis can significantly contribute to the development of supply chains and cells functioning in them.
