Evaluation of the Tourism Perspectives of Local People for Sustainable Tourism Planning

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to reveal the local people's perspective on tourism and contribute to a sustainable tourism planning in the region. The local people's perspective on tourism, which is developing day by day and affecting all the individuals it is related to, is important for the sustainability of tourism activities. It is necessary to examine the possible effects of tourism and to include them in the planning while carrying out tourism planning for the regions that are candidates for destinations. Structured questionnaires, which are quantitative research methods, were used in the research. Local people are of the opinion that tourism will not change traditional culture, will not cause destructive effects and will provide economic benefits to local people. In the light of the questions posed to the local people in the research, it was concluded that the perspective of the local people in Buldan is positive and the suggestions about the sustainable development of tourism were made.
