Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to find out the current problems in tourist guiding and the perspective of tourist guides about the current situation of the tourism sector. Data were collected via interview form approach from 28 tour guides which was held in November 2018 - December in 2018. The data were subjected to content analysis. According to tourist guides the current problems in tourism sector are: lack of strong image, lack of advertisement, seasonality, lack of international marketing, the existence of all-inclusive system and deficiencies in tourism. Travel agencies avoid paying basic guidance fees, illegal guidance activities, lack of professional ethics, unguided tour organization activities of universities and municipalities are featured problems mentioned by tourist guides in tourist guiding profession. It is also determined that tourist guides have a negative perspective about open field guidance and illegal guidance. The study concludes with recommendations to eliminate the deficiencies of the occupational law in order to make the tour guiding service more efficient and effective, to reorganize the activities of TUREB and the chambers of the sector to take a more active role.
