Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author analyzes how certain phenomena such as globalization, post-modernism and scientific revolution changed the look of war in all its dimensions (its very nature, the actors, the battlefield). Also, the analytical approach emphasizes the role of perceptions of the phenomenon of war and especially the misperceptions that plays most often an important role in triggering the war. The author also believes that the current picture about future war could be strongly affected by biases, manipulation and even poisoning. Evaluating the two schools of thought regarding the „old wars” and „new wars”, this article concludes that the essence/ nature of war has changed, and the theory of Clausewitz remains valid even today if we look holistically the confrontation (military/non-military) and if decipher the work of the great strategist with an appropriate reading grid.
