Summary/Abstract: This article presents selected references to Romanticism that can be found in the concept of geopoetics created by Kenneth White. Romanticism as an ideological current is one of the central elements to the work of this Scottish writer and literary theorist, but also of other contemporary researchers and creators. The inspiration that this trend most often provides today is an “ecocentric” and anti-capitalist vision of the world. This text attempts to formulate an answer to the question about the importance of geopoetics in the era of the Anthropocene. And what is Romanticism in the face of the ecological crisis? The author argues that references to Romantic concepts, which are increasingly common in the works of researchers and creators interested in ecological issues, are a new alternative to thinking about reality, not a simple reach back to the past.
