Summary/Abstract: This article presents the unknown circumstances of the negotiations connected with marriage of Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł and Maria Zofia Sieniawska. Based on the correspondence of their relatives and friends, the article is an analysis of the process of preparing their wedding, consolidation of the family supporting the candidate, the importance of Sieniawska’s parents private interests, shown during negotiations connected with their daughter’s wedding and finally the circumstances after which the official engagement was broken. Moreover, important actions leading to the finalization of the indicated marriage, show the importance of marital policy and its influence on building the position of the noble family in the modern era
