Summary/Abstract: The Apellas Inscription is the only text preserved on stone from Asclepieionat Epidauros dated to the 2nd century AD. It has a character of a votive offering devotedto the god of medicine – Asklepios as a form of gratitude for the cure, and it containsa description of treatment that the god was to recommend to Apellas. This article presentsin-depth analysis of the inscription’s text, and it offers conclusions that can be drawnabout the methods of patient healthcare at Epidaurian Asclepieion in the 2nd century.Furthermore, the author proposes a Polish translation of the inscription.
