Summary/Abstract: The paper is a critical discussion on Sarah Bakewell’s book At the Existentialist Café. Freedom, Being, and Apricot Cocktails (Warsaw 2018). The goal is, firstly, to present the basic theses described by the author; and secondly – to invite to reflection on the phenomenon of existentialism, its problems and meaning for the contemporary philosophical thought.
