Summary/Abstract: It’s a Saturday night at Kaffee Burger. The vodka is flowing freely and Wladimir Kaminer is in the DJ booth spinning fast-paced Russian ska and Soviet grooves. The crowd is a mix of Germans, Russians and tourists from Spain and Italy. Suddenly a group of Russians link arms and start dancing Kosak style, kicking their heels up in the air and pumping fists. And Wladimir Kaminer is beaming, arms held high – in a Russian world all of his own.
