Summary/Abstract: Javier Cercas’s “The Impostor” is a novel that reveals the history of a deception and the process of writing about the history of that deception. As an author who exploits maximally the freedom of genre, Cercas wrote a postmodernist work that advances the writing model known as the story about the process of creation. This novel wipes the boundary between reality and fiction and brings out a moral which we didn’t know from the history that (perhaps) we all knew.
