Summary/Abstract: This article introduces to Italian readers the first postmodern Albanian novel, Death Comes From Such Eyes (1974), which has been translated into eight languages (French, German, Dutch, Bulgarian, Serbian, Slovenian, Greek and Italian). Italian critic Roveda consider this work as an Albanian masterpiece and as a work that brings anew literary paradigm in Albanian literature,while Rexhep Qosja considered as one of the best narrative masters of Balkan literature. For the Italian readers this novel is a fictional fresco that informs them about Albanian lifestyle and a writing style.
