The participation of seniors living in rural areas in family and social life – the disappearing bench syndrome

Summary/Abstract: The Polish countryside is changing, and although the changes bear mainly positive effects, the dynamics of these changes give seniors many problems of an adaptive and participatory character. The elderly as a result of social and moral changes in the countryside have to face the feeling of alienation in the living environment both in the family and in the local environment. In this publication, the authors presented the results of research on the participation of seniors living in rural areas in family and social life.
