School as a space for education of school-aged children

Summary/Abstract: The article has a theoretical-empirical character. It indicates that special impact of teachers and specialists: pedagogues, psychologists, supporting teachers in organizing education, upbringing and socialization of children. In these processes teachers play the main role, with “favorable social and educational conditions”, also parents and the local environment – in this case a big city, determined as a metropolitan environment. The aim of the article/research is to describe school and its selected features, which shape children and prepare them for social life. As a background to the research, the current tasks of teachers in the Polish school space were adopted. The results of the empirical research, conducted in one of primary schools in Warsaw, prove that school provides children with favourable social-educational conditions.
