Montenegrins in Yugoslav Diplomatic Service in the Interwar Period

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the main factors of selection, position and work of clerks from Montenegro in the Yugoslav diplomatic and consular service, since 1919 until 1939. Examination of general factors dominant in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the representative offices abroad was base for further analyze which cases were in the line with existing practices and which were beyond the scope of functioning of the diplomatic-consular service. Analyze is based on Yugoslav archival material and relevant historiographical literature.
