Summary/Abstract: The Dialogue with the famous art critic, professor and director of the Institute of Art History „G. Oprescu” from Bucharest, Dr. Adrian-Silvan Ionescu, its develops around the theme of the current employment of art in the needs of the city, of society in general. The questions that have been tried to be answered are whether it is still possible to engage in politically engaged art, agitating art, militant art; whether today’s artist can maintain the level of missionary and progressive employment without being the messenger of any sponsor (governmental, political, commercial etc.); what is the role of art engaged in contemporary art and what category of artists are more called today to get involved in alarming social situations.
