Summary/Abstract: In order to succeed and be competitive in the contemporary globalized changing business environment, every company needs to possess effective managers. It is managers that are responsible, inter alia, for the development of corporate strategy, the conduct of a managerial process, for planning and decision making, organizing, controlling company resources and achieving the objectives set. Every successful manager possesses some competencies that facilitate efficient performance at different levels of management. The aim of the paper is to present why it is important for managers to develop foreign language competencies and implement language management strategies in their companies. The paper also shows why adult learning and coaching principles should be taken into account in language training for managers so that the learning process is the most effective and cost-effective for the organizations. The paper presents an increasingly popular approach to foreign language training, that is language coaching, including niche neuro-language coaching, which additionally pays attention to how the brain likes to learn. It also explains why this approach can facilitate the process of learning a foreign language by managers and consequently, enhance company’s competitive advantage in the market.
