Corporate venture capital and corporate innovation

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays enterprises are much more likely undertake activities which increase their innovation and thus also competitiveness, allocating a number of financial outlays on this area of activity. This is due to the increasing volatility and unpredictability of the market. However, they rarely use and have measurable tools to help them accomplish this task, especially in Poland. Efficient and modern management of an innovative company requires appropriate tools, which can be used in practice. The research goal of the publication is to verify the hypothesis concerning the creation by corporate venture capital a direct non-financial added value for enterprises which is undoubtedly innovation. In order to verify the assumed hypothesis, a research method was applied based on a review of the current global scientific publication and research output on corporate venture capital. Also, an analysis of their impact on the innovativeness of enterprises was done. In addition, this publication allows to answer set questions about ways and importance to strengthen the innovativeness of enterprises through non-standard business methods which until recently were unparalleled in our country. Finally, it was suggested the need to deepen empirical research confirming or denying the creation by corporate venture capital direct financial added value for enterprises investing in venture activity as well as the need for wider use of such solutions in our country.
