Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is the choice of theoretical models which reflect as closely as possible distributions of income between men and women in the Malopolska voivodship. The study took into account the theoretical distributions commonly used in the analysis of wages and incomes by Polish and foreign authors. For a comparative analysis were selected three best-fit models: Singh-Maddala, Fisk and log-normal. These distributions were tested for estimation accuracy of measurement position, the volatility and inequality in the empirical distribution of income between men and women. Estimation models were based on data on individual incomes of men and women in the Malopolska voivodship in 2013 coming from panel survey, conducted in the framework of the Social Diagnosis. The results were compared with the results of the study of population distributions of income presented in the Polish and foreign literature.
