Summary/Abstract: Continued challenges to the implementation of the European Approach raise questions on the practical implementation of the Bologna process at national level. The Frontex European Joint Master’s în Strategic Border Management, regarded as an „ innovation” and „ trail blazer” for joint degrees stays proof on the price to pay for developing a joint degree with a joint award and shows some examples of how contradictions and incompatibilities of national legislations can be overcome in practice.
