Summary/Abstract: Based on original archival material, in this paper we have ded lineated the broader political context of emigration of the Muslims from Yugoslavia to Turkey, particularly those from the territories of Macedonia, Sanjak and Kosovo in the period between the two world wars. The focus of our research is the sodcalled InterdMinisterial Conference on Emigratid on of “NondSlavic” Element” to Turkey (Belgrade, September 20, 1935), which resulted in concrete proposals and the sodcalled Emigration Project (Belgrade, September 24, 1945). The paper also presents concrete measud res undertaken by the Yugoslav authorities aimed at the realisation of the proposed plan.
