Summary/Abstract: Excavation in 2009 on the citadel in Dongola concentrated inside unit B.37 of the palatial Building B.I, including a test pit dug under the floor of the unit. The ceramic assemblage from these excavations is representative of Dongolan pottery production of the 6th and 7th centuries, which drew inspiration from Late Roman models. It consisted mainly of bowls, plates and amphorae, the latter including containers brought as packaging of goods imported from Egypt and Gaza.
