Summary/Abstract: The new EC Regulation on the Law Applicable to Contractual Obligations (Regulation Rome I), adopted on 17 June 2008, contains rules dealing with situations involving a conflict of laws in the field of contracts. It will replace the 1980 Rome Convention and bring about a number of important changes, some of which will affect directly contracts entered into or performed through the Internet.
