Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to show the polydiscoursive and polysemic nature of the Polish particle NO, as well as its implications that shows both in Polish and in translations into Spanish. In order to do that, the authors carried out a pragmatic analysis of diverse speech acts and conversational contexts, where this element can appear in Polish, and their equivalent forms in Spanish. This analysis enabled to observe a pragmasemantic complexity of this particle in certain utterances, which is specially visible in case of necessity of finding its appropriate equivalents in foreign languages, in our instance – in Spanish.
