MARIA CEBOTARI IN THE CULTURAL LIFE OF THE RUSSIAN DIASPORA IN BERLIN AND DRESDEN (FROM THE CHRONICLE OF THE EMIGRANTS’ PRESS)

Summary/Abstract: The article contains information about the first steps in the professional career of Maria Cebotari – a brilliant singer and actress of the first half of the 20th century, when she participated in the cultural events of the Russian Diaspora in Berlin and Dresden. The information of this kind was collected from a number of emigrants’ newspapers of that time, on the pages of which they tried to comment truthfully or announce the concerts with the participation of M. Cebotari. This material serves not only to fill in the gaps in her biography, but also proves that M. Cebotari had organically belonged to the „Russian World”of Germany for almost ten years.
