Summary/Abstract: We can state without fear of mistaking that the search for identity is the main theme of poetry in the Romanian literature of the 1980s. The masculine characters are alter egos of the authors who narrate their lack of direction in a communist rigid society. Diverse characters of different ages with different preoccupations and social affiliation linked by the same confusion they are living in accompany us throughout the narrative sequences. They are searchers of the forbidden one and of the freedom they find at the level of the postmodern text.
