Participants from Ossetia in the Russian-Turkish War 1877-1878

Summary/Abstract: The role of the Ossetia’s military elite in the Russian-Turkish war 1877-1878 and their contribution to the military history of the Russian Empire have been considered. Case studies of prominent officers – war heroes have been provided. The author analyses the life trajectories and the war behavior of the officers fighting in the Caucasus Cossack units.
