Active Role of the State in the Agribusiness Area as Illustrated by the Regulations Governing the Possession of and Trading in Agricultural Properties

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to indicate that the State plays an active role in the agribusiness area.Using the formal institutions and organizations it created, the State creates desirable ways of managingarable land. The legal regulations concerning the agribusiness derive from the assumptions of the State’sagricultural policy. Analysis of legal regulations allows to state that the recent legal regulations concerningthe possession of and trading in agricultural properties result in the restrictions imposed on businessentities in terms of economic choices in order to implement complex economic goals. Legal regulationsaim at implementing effective control in terms of managing arable land. The restrictions and controlsin the above mentioned area of business entities’ operations are justified by the fact that agriculturalproperties are an indispensable means of agricultural production the purpose and function of which isto ensure food safety of the country.
