Summary/Abstract: The study examines a less researched area of tourism in Hungary, tourism safety. The authors shed light on the social and economic contexts that influence the volume of tourism and have an impact on tourism security. In the following, the study examines the quantitative and qualitative changes that characterized criminals and victims between 2009 and 2018, focusing on foreign tourists arriving in Hungary. In the case of victims, the authors mainly seek answers to the question of how the increase in the number of foreign tourists has affected the change in the number of foreign victims.
