Summary/Abstract: Ankstesnių tyrimų rezultatai, aptarti straipsnyje „Sielovada šv. The results of the previous research discussed in the article “Pastoral care in the Rule of St. Benedict” allowed identifying not only changes in the perception of pastoral care before the spread of the Rule of St. Benedict and after that, but also the reasons for its significance in carrying out missions. The carried out research provides a solid background for the perception of pastoral care as presented in the Rule. The current article, which sums up the re- search results, focuses on three basic pillars of pastoral care presented in the Rule, namely, pastoral care of silence, ministries and liturgy, which is the center of monastic life. The author of the article aims at enhancing the novelty of the Rule of St. Benedict (RB) in comparison to the Rule of the Master (RM), as well as revealing the impact of St. Benedict’s teaching on pastoral care in the (Christian) West.
