BUNIN’S ANTIBES THROUGH THE GUY DE MAUPASSANT’S PRIZM

Summary/Abstract: A comparative method of perception of I. Bunin’s Bernard, Heinrich short stories and The Life of Arsenyev novel is developed in the paper from the point of view of creative assimilation of Guy de Maupassant’s prose. Artistic discourse not only refers to descriptive features of the artistic reality of the Russian classic (the phenomenon of death, the poetics of the ending) but also reveals a hidden aspect of a character’s overall being.
