Life quality in the development strategy. Dilemmas of measurement

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the quality of life as a category of priority from the point of view of strategy development in Poland and ways to measure it. Essential to quality of life is attributed to stimulating economic growth, which is conducive to social development, ensuring to meet the needs of present and future generations. This approach requires the search for indicators that will reflect the facts and developments in this multidimensional approach. Improving the quality of life of Poles is an overriding goal of national development strategy in the medium and long term. With the establishment of this purpose, the authors of the strategy pointed out measures for its implementation. The article presents ways of describing and evaluating the quality of life in the strategic documents and the problems of its measurements in the context of monitoring the title research category.
