CHINESE DREAM and EAST TURKISTAN

Summary/Abstract: China has developed very rapidly in the fields of economics, politics and defense in the past several decades, and its relations with the USA which is the current leader of the World are deteriorating, and trade wars between them have been on the agenda. While the USA as a part of global rivalry has begun to focus its strategic center of gravity to Asia, China on the other hand developed a different alternative strategy and gave priority to move towards the west. China wanted to be the first global power in 2049, as so she will achieve the Chinese dream. The westward strategy and belt and road projects are developed for this aim. So that, the importance of East Turkistan, which is the gateway between the east and the west has increased. In this study, firstly, how the developments occurring in China and international world have affected the behavior of the super powers were evaluated. Then, the necessity of the Chinese Dream and how it came about and the plans and projects developed to realize it were evaluated. Finally, how it affects the East Turkistan, which has a special strategic location, abundant natural resources, and deep-rooted civilization and is located in the center of the Silk Road, has been examined.
