RUSSIAN PHRASEOLOGY IN THE ASPECT OF MESONYMY AND NEGATION

Summary/Abstract: Mesonymy and negation played an important role in the forming and evolution of Russian phraseology. A negative sense has been given to many traditionally affirmative phrasal expressions. Mesonymic phraseological units are, as a rule, parts of concrete oppositional triad structure which is based on antonymie phraseology.
