THOUGHT OF EDUCATION IN HASAN ÂLİ YÜCEL

Summary/Abstract: Education is the primary means of learning and teaching by interacting with knowledge and learning to reach a high level of life individually and to develop and progress as a society. In addition, the way to establish and develop a political and social system that is democratic and compatible with human rights is through education. Education aims to raise good people, good citizens and to provide them with the most basic knowledge and skills required in life. At the same time, it helps the individual to discover his/her creativity by increasing his/her potential and is effective in completing his/her personality. In this article, the views of Hasan Âli Yücel, who made important studies on education, will be explained. In order to understand Yücel's idea of education, it is necessary to know the thoughts of his teachers who formed and influenced the basis of his thoughts. Mustafa Şekip Tunç, İsmayıl Hakkı Baltacıoğlu, Mehmet Emin Erişirgil, and Ziya Gökalp, who gave lectures in Darülfünun, were among the teachers who mostly influenced Yücel in the field of education. The main problem in this article is whether Hasan Âli Yücel is an educational thinker.
