Summary/Abstract: The process of identifying the value model of a community is important in the implementation of activities related to the development of the spiritual image of a population. It is an essential part of the overall process of preserving and translating local entities important for the development of society and for overcoming negative value trends. In the research conducted we reveal the connection between a folklore text and its existence in the present, as well as the possibility of this text, in the time of technology, to turn from a medium of forgetting into an active means of remembrance and impact. Cultural memory gives grounds for the population to unite the religious with the national faith and to preserve and establish a spiritual connection with the generations.. Studying the phenomenon "song" from an earlier period and comparing it with current models today, we can highlight the parameters of the national perception of the world and the influence of cultural memory in order to contribute to the derivation of the value model of the community, which is important for the overall process of conservation and development of this community. The value model reflected in the studied folk song offers certain ethical norms: respect to the beauty of women on men‘s behalf; striving to protect this beauty; youth, strong intimate experiences, but also loneliness and love pain. The model allows for a connection with the ancient mythological beliefs of the Thracians, Slavs and Proto-Bulgarians, as well as with subsequent cultural models. Enriched in time, cultural memory has preserved the following value model in folklore: sacredness of female beauty aimed at respect for women and starting a family, and protection of the female beauty as a value, purity of spirit. Linguistic features and characteristics are proof of population movement and the mutual influence of speech. Not only the songs are changed and enriched, but also the traditions, the festive system, the speech. This is based on the principle of an unconscious tolerance of the population to otherness. Through this study on a folk song, we offer manifestations of cultural memory and provide opportunities and directions for further research on the impact of memory on the spiritual image of the community.
