Summary/Abstract: In the twenties of the 20th century the Polish legislator adopted a whole range of regulations in the realm of the protection of the Polish language and the practices of sworn translators in official contexts. Beginning with the year 2004 sworn translators have been considered as performing a profession of the public trust. There are many important professional values to be protected in connection with this fact, such as accuracy, precision, professional secrecy. The Professional Codex of Sworn Translator of 2018 establishes the rights and duties of sworn translators and establishes a normative paradigm of sworn translation.
