Summary/Abstract: The Polish-Evangelical Easter Borderlands at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 The term Polish-evangelical Eastern Borderlands appeared in the Polish journalism in the years 1918-1919. This term was used with respect to the areas of Masuria, Cieszyn Silesia and parts of the former Prussian Silesia and southern Greater Poland inhabited by the Polish population or those using the Polish language, not always demonstrating Polish national awareness. Polish-Evangelical communities actively participated in joining these areas to Poland. Their representatives, such as the General Superintendent of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession, Rev. Juliusz Bursche went with this mission to the Peace Conference in Paris in 1919. They met representatives of the victorious powers bringing with them memorials showing the Polishness of these lands. The hopes of the Polish evangelicals were not fully satisfied. Masuria, the greater part of the Prussian and Cieszyn Silesia was outside of Polish statehood.
