Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the literary description of landscape, which is one of topics in works of polish poets: Juliusz Slowacki, and Zbigniew Herbert. It is generaly recognized that writers had represented other literary, artistic and cultural formations, and current of thoughts. Examples of their work mentioned in the article prove diversity in descriptions of nature, and variety of their functions in literature. Presentation of fragments Slowacki and Herbert’s poetry is based on similarity knowledge of fine arts principles, erudition, compilation of neoclassical (or pseudoclassical, as Juliusz Kleiner said) and romantic motives for description of landscape in their poems.
