Summary/Abstract: The Charter of Kulin ban is the oldest diplomatic document of medieval Bosnia. It was written in two languages and two letters, Bosnian and a Latin. The charter of Kulin ban is a significant document for the study of political and business conditions in Bosnia. The guarantee of security and freedom of trade for traders from Dubrovnik in Bosnia shows that Bosnia was an independent country with the state organisation in that time. Analysis of the Charter’s contents will demonstrate that Bosnia had a Bosnian state office in the XII century. Except the historical context and the opportunity in which the Charter of Kulin ban was brought the work will analyse its contents and the basic elements. Medieval Charter had their basic composition parts, protokol (introduction), text and eshatokol (conclusion).
