With nuclear arms control facing an uncertain future and nuclear weapon states either expanding or modernizing their arsenals, Matthew Kroenig asks the right question: ‘‘what kind of nuclear strategy and posture does the United States need to protect itself and its allies in this new nuclear age?’’ His answer is provided in his recent book, The Logic of American Nuclear Strategy: Why Strategic Superiority Matters.
