Summary/Abstract: The “Monastery” church from Vălenii de Munte (Prahova) occupies a special place among the church monuments of the Prahova county, due to it’s historical and architectural value. Located on the Teleajen Valley, in the center of Vălenii de Munte, it bears the traces of its past, marked by its stage as a metoh (branch) of the Cotroceni Monastery. Among these traces are the tombs inside the narhex of the church, about which research reminds very little. Therefore, the present article aims to approach, from a historical perspective, the funeral practice encountered in the Văleni monastery, between the 17th and the 19th centuries, and in particular, the graves found inside the church.
