Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses Harlan Coben’s novel titled The Woods (2007) and its Polish Netflix adaptation from 2020. “As a series combining genre codes, The Woods is visually the strongest in presenting aspects from the Easter European coming-of-age stories of the nineties. Although it certainly has some elements of trite Eastern Europeanism, it is certainly comforting to know that the series production of the region is capable of such exercises” – concludes the author.
