Summary/Abstract: This article investigates the migration of Romanians to Canada from its beginning at the turn of the twentieth century to its present dwindling numbers. It gives an account of the main waves of migration, through the lens of ethnicity. It shows how Romanian ethnicity was formed and continuously remade in Canada at different historical junctures and immigration regimes. The relational nature of ethnicity offers the possibility to investigate the work done by migration policies on individual subjectivity and social interaction.
