Summary/Abstract: Providing income security in old age requires making many decisions during professional activity. However, many important factors affect them. Those include state policy, cultural determinants, family and also religion. The rules applicable to particular religious denominations may affect the situation of elderly people in a given population. The purpose of this article is to show whether Protestantism and its principles influence the situation of post-working age people. For its implementation, the author decides to analyse data from the period 2000-2017. The analysis is carried out on the example of two Baltic States, in which Protestantism – Estonia and Latvia – dominates. In this work a critical analysis of the literature of the subject was used, as well as basic measures of descriptive statistics and a comparative analysis of both countries. The sources of empirical data are databases published by OECD and statistical offices of Estonia (est. statistikaamet) and Latvia (lav. Centrālā statistikas pārvalde).
