Summary/Abstract: The article refers to the promulgation of a decree in Soviet Russia on the Disestablishment and restriction of religious life. Church press in Russia did not overlook the centenary of this event. An extensive and documented “dossier” of the issue has recently been published, under the signature of the archpriest Vladislav Tapin, on Pravoslavie.ru. Immediately after the draft of the “decree” was published, the Church begun to firmly disapprove and criticize the proposal of nationalizing all Church assets. The tremendous pain and suffering of the Russian Orthodox people became an open wound even before the adoption of the “decree”, through numerous abuses, constraints, vandalism against the Church and its servants.
