Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the inner dynamism within the order of the fictional world, focusing on the tranformation of realistic writing (Flaubert, Tolstoy, Fontane) towards modernism. The displayed dynamism is exemplified on Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain taking into account the issue of autobiography and author’s essays (the Bildungsroman genre and the European realistic tradition).
