Summary/Abstract: The article selects a few historical notes about the village of Boteni and its inhabitants, from the author’s personal archive. The history of this Muscelean, sub-Carpathian village on the banks of the Argeșel rivulet emerges from the stories of grandparents, parents, village elders. The article refers to mining and other village industries – the textile industry, milling, beekeeping, fruit farming, various craftsmen’s workshops etc. Moreover, the article delineates the history of the local church and school, making reference to personalities born in Boteni – philosopher Petre Ţuţea, and ethnographer Ion Chelcea.
